How TO Pick The Right Type of Detergent For Your Home?
Every home is different in its own way and every home has its own needs. Our life is only made easier, and better by making choices that match those exact needs. Why should it be any different when it comes to your laundry detergent. Of course, any detergent is designed to do one basic job, that is, to remove stains from your used clothes, and make them clean. But choosing the one that is right for you, will make your weekly laundry experience less tedious.
There are four types of detergent variations you can choose from: powder, tablet, liquid, and bar. So how to choose the one that works best for you? Here are a few points to keep in mind:
1. Type of washer
There are high-efficiency washing machines in the market, that require special high-efficiency detergents. The liquid form works the best, as it’s easier and faster to merge into water producing enough lather to wash the clothes.
2. Type of clothes
If most of the clothes in your household are delicate, then they must be hand-washed, for which a bar is quite effective. But if they are all washing machine safe, a liquid detergent or a detergent tablet is much easier to use.
3. Type of stains
Depending on what kind of stains are common at your home, you need to pick the detergent form that is most effective in getting rid of those stains. Greasy stains are easier to remove using a liquid detergent. Powdered detergents are most effective with mud stains, a bar for delicate handwash, and tablets for a single load of regular laundry without any stubborn stains.
4. Cost
A very important factor in deciding the type of detergent because doing laundry should not burn a hole in your pocket. Detergent bars are the most cost-effective but can only be used for hand wash. For a washing machine, powdered detergents are the most cost-effective per load, followed by liquid. The detergent tablets are the most expensive to use per load, but also the most convenient. What also affects the cost per load, is the amount of detergent being used. Many people tend to overuse their detergents, and that goes to wastage and might also cause skin allergies. Remember, a little goes a long way!
